Who is eligible to apply for appropriations funding?

Applicants must be an official student organization and/or currently enrolled as a Regis University traditional undergraduate student taking a minimum of 6 semester hours.

What is the maximum amount of funding an individual can request?

Students are capped at requesting no more than a cumulative $500 in travel funds in a given academic year.

Question 4

What must be included in a funding request of $500 or greater?

Accepted Answer

A written statement with their proposal indicating how they will ensure that the event promotes diversity, equity, and/or inclusion in addition to sustainability. Clubs and organizations must aim to promote environmentally responsible practices on campus. The statement must address mindful consumption, supply chain awareness, waste management, recycling, and environmental justice and education. Further details can be found in the Appropriations Guidelines document.

When will airfare funding be considered?

Airfare will not be considered if the distance to the destination is less than 12 hours of drive time. The Appropriations Committee will fund domestic and international air travel for destinations outside of the 12-hour drive time.

Can food be funded for events?

Accepted Answer

Yes, food can be funded if it is a critical component of the event, with a $400 cap unless a strong case is made for more. The Committee will not fund food for organizational meetings or banquets, nor alcohol purchases.

Question 7

Are there limits on the amount organizations can request?

Accepted Answer

Yes, organizations are capped at requesting no more than $4,999.99 in a single academic year. For requests of $5,000 or more, organizations must partner with other organizations to share the cost.

Question 8

How many times can a denied funding request be appealed?

Accepted Answer

Denied funding requests can be edited and resubmitted for appeal two times before the project will no longer be considered.
